Privacy Policy

We inform you that since 25 May 2018, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter – the “Regulation”), has been applicable in Latvia. The Regulation sets out the rules for the processing of personal data of natural persons.

Latvian Potter has taken the necessary steps to comply with the requirements of the Regulation and to ensure that the customer (hereinafter – the “Customer”) using the online store at www.latvianpotter.lv (hereinafter – the “Online Store”) and purchasing goods sold in the Online Store (if applicable) (hereinafter – the “Goods”), has their personal data stored securely, processed lawfully, and only in accordance with the defined purposes of personal data processing.

In order to inform Customers about what personal data Latvian Potter collects and processes, the Latvian Potter Customer Personal Data Processing Policy (hereinafter – the “Policy”) has been developed and approved as follows:

2. Collection and Categories of Personal Data

2.1. Personal data may be obtained from the Customer and, if necessary, from other sources such as publicly available information. The categories of personal data that Latvian Potter may collect and process include purchase data: name, surname, email, phone number, delivery address, delivery method, payment method, payment details (including, but not limited to, bank account number), and name and surname of third parties receiving the Goods (if different from the Customer).

2.2. Only personal data necessary to achieve the purposes specified in Section 3 of this Policy is collected and processed.


3. Purposes of Personal Data Processing

Latvian Potter processes Customer personal data for the following purposes:

3.1. For the conclusion and performance of a distance contract (purchase agreement). In order to sell Goods in the Online Store, purchase data must be processed. If the Customer does not agree to such processing, Latvian Potter will not be able to complete the sale. This processing is necessary for the conclusion and performance of the contract and is also required by applicable accounting and payment regulations.

3.2. If the Customer submits a request or inquiry, any personal data may be processed depending on the nature of the request.

3.3. For other specific purposes, of which the Customer will be informed at the time of data submission.

3.4. Latvian Potter does not collect browsing history from third-party websites and does not share browsing data from the Online Store with third parties.


4. Legal Basis for Processing

Personal data is processed based on:

4.1. The performance of a contract between the Customer and Latvian Potter.

4.2. Legal obligations under applicable laws.

4.3. The Customer’s consent.

4.4. Legitimate interests of Latvian Potter.


5. Data Processing Procedures

5.1. Data is processed using modern technologies, taking into account privacy risks and available technical and organizational resources.

5.2. Third-party service providers (e.g. delivery companies) may process personal data on behalf of Latvian Potter as data processors.

5.3. Such processors must comply with data protection requirements.

5.4. Processors may not use data for any purpose other than contract performance.


6. Data Protection

Latvian Potter applies appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including:

  • restricted access to premises
  • firewalls
  • SSL encryption
  • intrusion detection systems
  • other security measures

7. Data Recipients

Personal data is not disclosed to third parties except when:

  • required for contract execution (e.g. delivery or payment services)
  • the Customer has given consent
  • required by law or authorities
  • necessary for legal protection of Latvian Potter (e.g. legal claims, debt recovery)

8. Data Retention Period

Data is stored as long as:

  • the contract is in force
  • legal obligations require retention
  • legal claims may be exercised
  • consent remains valid

Afterwards, data is permanently deleted.


9. Access to Data and Customer Rights

Customers have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, as well as data portability rights, in accordance with applicable law.

10. Consent and Withdrawal

Customers may give consent to data processing (e.g. marketing) and may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect lawful processing carried out before withdrawal.


11. Commercial Communications

Marketing communications are sent only with consent or as permitted by law. Customers may opt out at any time.


12. Communication with Customers

Communication is carried out via phone or email regarding order fulfillment, delivery, payments, and related matters.


13. Cookies

The Online Store may use cookies. More information is provided in the cookie policy.


14. Validity and Amendments

The Policy is available at www.latvianpotter.lv and may be updated at any time. Changes will be published on the website or communicated to Customers.

This version of the Policy enters into force on 14 August 2025.
